Selected for Cannes Quinzaine des Cinéastes, Death Has No Master (La muerte no tiene dueño), directed by Jorge Thieland Armand and starring Asia Argento, follows the story of Caro, a woman who travels to Venezuela to sell her late father's cacao plantation. Upon her arrival, she discovers that the family estate has been taken over by its former staff, who are determined to remain there at any cost. Resolute in reclaiming what she believes is rightfully hers, Caro takes justice into her own hands, setting in motion a violent struggle that exposes the deep scars embedded in both the land and its history.
